This should be interesting...

The boys chose new little memo books for daily lists. We are finding that the procrastinating, eye rolling, sighing, reminder after reminderand in general not getting stuff done by our two frys needs to end. Christmas break is an excellent time to start a new habit, model it and if needed some painful lessons. I modeled making the list-set a time limit: i.e. if you get home from school at 3 then you SHOULD be able to get everything done by 5-or no privileges for the remainder of the evening....hmmm no one has started a thing yet. It is now 3:27. Bets anyone on how the evening is going to go?

Well? I predict that they will have to learn the hard way, just like with everything else.

Guess what, they got everything done-that is just day one though, we will see how today goes. Small fry is actually the one who is dragging feet more-not the usual pattern:)

Wow. Maybe I need to invest in some notebooks..

It is crazy, how it worked, and is STILL working-especially for big fry! I don't think it is the notebook but the "no privileges, until it is done" motto. Basically I don't care how much you procrastinate but nothing fun until it's done-it's their time not mine.
